Find out all about the current projects in the tabs below

  • First job in education 2020

ŠC Ljubljana is one of the educational and training organisations selected in the public call for tender for the selection of operations "First Jobs in Education 2020".

The employment is co-financed by the Republic of Slovenia (Ministry of Education, Science and Sport) and the European Union from the European Social Fund. The operation is implemented under the Operational Programme for the Implementation of the European Cohesion Policy 2014-2020, Priority Axis: 8. "Promoting employment and transnational labour mobility", Priority Investment: 8. 2 "Sustainable integration of young people into the labour market (ESF), in particular those who are neither in employment nor in education or training, including young people at risk of social exclusion and young people from marginalised communities, including through the implementation of the Youth Guarantee"; specific objective: 8.2.1 "Reducing youth unemployment".

    European Cohesion Policy funding

The objectives are funded by the European Cohesion Policy Funds: the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Cohesion Fund (CF).

The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) aims to strengthen regional economic and social cohesion by investing in growth-enhancing sectors that boost competitiveness and create jobs. The ERDF also finances cross-border cooperation projects.

The European Social Fund (ESF) invests in people, focusing on improving employment and education opportunities. It also aims to help those who are disadvantaged and at risk of poverty and social exclusion.

The Cohesion Fund (CF) invests in green growth and sustainable development and improves connectivity in Member States whose GDP is below 90% of the average of the twenty-eight Member States of the European Union.

You can find all the latest cooperation opportunities at http://www.eu-skladi.si/ekp/zakonodaja.

  • Munera 3

In the period 2018-2022, further vocational education and training programmes for employees will be implemented at the Ljubljana School of Applied Sciences and 85 schools across Slovenia as additional training, qualifications or retraining, which must keep pace with the needs of the labour market and individual jobs.

Munera 3 offers employees a wide range of opportunities to participate in further vocational education and training programmes, with the intention of improving their competences in response to labour market needs, increasing their employability and mobility between fields of work, and their personal development and performance in modern society. The programmes will be implemented in the technical, bio-technical and service sectors in all twelve statistical regions of the Republic of Slovenia. The project will be open to a minimum of 17 640 employees, who will be able to receive education and training at vocational secondary, technical secondary and higher education levels.

More information on the project and the possibilities to join can be found below.

  • Further development of ICT infrastructure in education

The aim of the operation is to improve young people's competences and achievements and to empower educators through the increased use of modern ICT in teaching and learning. The construction of wireless networks and the purchase of ICT equipment, the development of e-services and e-content are co-financed for educational institutions.

The link to the website of the European Cohesion Policy in Slovenia can be found at http://www.eu-skladi.si/.

The investment is co-financed by the Republic of Slovenia and the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund.

  • Erasmus +, Learning Mobility of Students and Staff (E KA1)

The Student and Teacher Mobility Programme has been running since the 2016/17 school year and involves third-year students from all vocational secondary education programmes. In the partner school in Tampere (Finland), mobility participants take part in practical and theoretical lessons and visit companies in their field of expertise. In Braga (Portugal), the students receive practical training in companies in their field of expertise (PUD). In 2018/19, they will also go on mobility to Leipzig (Germany), where they will receive PUD or training at the school's vocational centre.

The mobility aims to improve the participants' professional and key competences, communication skills (in foreign languages), independence, self-initiative, responsibility and motivation. Through socialising with students from the host country and other countries and getting to know the natural, social, economic, professional and cultural characteristics, students gain a better understanding of the cultural diversity and intercultural richness of Europe. All this contributes generously and positively to the quality of teaching, learning and the atmosphere at the ŠCL.

The E+ programme covers all participants' travel, insurance, accommodation, meals, local transport and cultural programme costs (e.g. visits to Helsinki, Porto or other nearby cities, museums). In selecting students, we take into account their motivation letter and CV, their commitment and performance in class and school life, references from teachers (students' development and progress) and their communication in English. Before the mobility, students have compulsory preparation (profession, culture, language, career development, online and travel safety, ICT). They conclude a learning agreement with the school, which defines the learning objectives of the mobility and the obligations of the participants before, during and after the mobility.

After the return from the mobility, the key phase of the project is the dissemination of the results and impacts of the mobility to other students and teachers who have not been abroad. Participants receive an EU-wide Europass Mobility Certificate, which demonstrates their international learning activity and the competences acquired, a certificate of participation and other formal evidence. We have learned that all our students have a good command of English and that their professional skills and work habits make them highly respected by their foreign partner organisations and companies.

  • Institutional training and preparation for National Vocational Qualifications

In this project, the Ljubljana School Centre will provide training and preparation for the NPK exams for various programmes (computer, woodworking, mechanical engineering). The client and remunerator will be the Employment Office of the Republic of Slovenia, which will send us registered unemployed persons in order to train them for a more competitive entry into the labour market.

  • Mentor training 2016 - 2021

Good mentoring is becoming increasingly more and more important, both in business and in education. That's why the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport has launched a European project, also funded by the EU, called Mentor Training 2016-2021, which is aimed at mentors from companies who work with students, and whose skills are also very useful for mentoring colleagues.

The training is free of charge for participants. It takes 24 hours, including interesting workshops and group work.

The next mentor training is planned for September 2019.

Throughout the year, we will be monitoring calls for tenders from various ministries and other potential sponsors, looking for our opportunity in the field of education and training.
